Colleen King from aboutBusiness was recommended to us by our previous software consultant. She took over the implementation of our sagePastel Partner Accounting with Bills of Materials in 1999 and has provided us with friendly, efficient and reliable support ever since. We are a manufacturing company with multiple sites and thousands of bills of materials.
We've grown from a single user office administrator to a 20-user capable system. Growth brought its problems but we could rely on Colleen to advise what to do with our computers and software as we grew.
When we need support, she logs on remotely without interrupting our day to day processing. It's magic.

Month End Reporting and Forecasting
Colleen, from aboutBusiness, comes in once a month, reconciles our QuickBooks Premier Accounting balance sheet, updates our forecasts with our actuals, prepares our monthly reports and goes over our results with us.
We are a retail business with two divisions: new furniture sales and reupholstery. Colleen goes over our bookkeeping entries with a fine tooth comb and looks at things we would never even think of. She is fastidious.
We know the reports will be accurate when they're produced. We require our reports to be presented in a particular way and it is more efficient for us to get Colleen to do them than to do them ourselves"
We also use Colleen for remote support which we find easier than trying to explain what the problem is over the phone and far more cost effective than having to come on site to resolve what is often just a simple problem.

We were Colleen's first bookkeeping client. She came out to present accounting and payroll software to us when we were setting up the business and she had no intention of doing 'bookwork'. She taught us to use the QuickBooks Accounting and ACE Payroll software we bought but neither myself or my business partner were 'books' people. We could see that Colleen was competent and we asked her to take over the work.
Her work was accurate and cost effective. The accounts were always up to date making year end accounting a breeze.
Colleen and her staff did our accounts for 10 years until we took on an office manager. We've had a number of Colleen's staff work on the accounts but Colleen always tried to come out personally at the end of the month to process the creditor payments and go through the accounts with me. Colleen remains on call, when required.

We are a buyer and seller of New Zealand Wool. Until September 2008 we kept manual accounting and payroll records. When our in-house accountant died suddenly, we were left with no-one who understood what to do. Our account manager at the bank recommended that we computerise our systems. When we purchased our RestHome and Retirement Village in 1996, Colleen, from aboutBusiness, supplied and set up our QuickBooks Accounting software.
At that time, our invoices had to be set out in a particular format that required more columns than most software could cope with. Colleen showed us how it could be done in QuickBooks, customised the QuickBooks invoice layout and trained me to use QuickBooks.
When our payroll support person moved to another business, we were able to use Colleen to help us with our MYOB Comacc Payroll. aboutBusiness supplies and installs our software upgrades as needed so that we know we won't have problems once they're done.

We are a RestHome with 200 staff. When I took over the payroll position here, Colleen helped me reconcile the staff leave in our MYOB Comacc Payroll system. I had spent ages trying to work it out but she was able to find the right information quickly, calculate what the balances should be and reconcile the payroll balances. This saved me hours.
When we got our new Lauranka Time Clock, we contracted Colleen to set up and test the import files to make sure the hours worked, leave types paid and cost centres imported correctly in the payroll.
It is good to know that we have someone reliable who knows our system that we can call on in an emergency to take over the payroll.
